What does this position entail?

An Assistant Graphic Designer will help me with project overflow with existing brand assets and making sure everything meets industry standards. You will be expected to take brief direction or verbal cues and expand on it while sticking to the original creative vision and aesthetic that my company provides clients. You will not have to directly communicate with clients, you will receive task lists and assets from me. It is important that my assistant be self-motivated, independent, and curious. We will likely have a weekly conference call during business hours, or if you are located in the Triangle, an in-person meeting. As needs grow, you will have the opportunity to grow with us and become a core team member.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

  • Ability to draw/sketch

  • Prompt and clear communication. Our work is deadline driven, so availability to communicate during regular business days is a must - basically between 9am-9pm EST.

  • Proper English spelling/grammar. There are a lot of page layout and editing projects that go on to be published.

  • Online portfolio – does not need to be a website with published works; a behance profile or a google docs folder set to public will work.

Knowledge of the following:
Typography rules, Print Proofing, Basic Color Theory, Page layout, Information hierarchy

Bonus $kills to have:

  • Read/Write Arabic script

  • Video Editing

Technical Requirements:

A computer with at least 6GB of RAM and a fast/reliable ISP
